Michael's Story
Life
After HS graduation, I went to NAU and got a BS in Zoology with a minor in chemistry in December, 1994. In the fall of 1996, I started the PhD program in Microbiology at ASU and graduated in August, 2002. Now I'm a post-doctoral research assistant at ASU and work for Dr. Bert Jacobs doing vaccine development (smallpox and ...Expand for more
HIV) and how vaccinia virus causes encephalitis during vaccination against smallpox (which happens ~1/20,000). Next year, the lab will be moving to AZ-Biodesign which is being built on the boring ASU campus.
Unlike most people I work with, I have never been married or do I have children. However, I still play soccer twice a week.
