Michael's Story
Life
His momma swooned to a snarled -lipped, jiggle-hipped phenomenon named Elvis. In 1955 Memphis, they were all shook up.
This might explain MICHAEL HUDSON, born in that breakout year. How else?
As time moves forward, his timepiece runs counterclockwise...to the days of charming matinee idols, swashbuckling heroes and femme fatales disolving into misunderstood (and redeemable) creatures.
It is this world that Michael moves in.
He calls an old Flordia cracker house home; you might see him coming up the walk in wingtips and fedora. If you did, he'd laugh and call out "hey mister, can you spare a dime?"
His art heroes are many, but some that stand out are PARRISH, HOMER, PYLE, and WYETH. Michael's work delivers the feeling of a bygone era, a less complicated time, combining his two passions... art and nostalgia. Watercolor and pastel are his mediums of choice. After spending his days at the MEMPHIS COLLEGE OF ART, and at times living in a dry, passionless desert of the ordinary, Michael now lives in the St. Petersburg area of Florida. Lush green landscapes, bright sea blues and the peach conch have all wooed Michael to continue his fine art painting, developing ReelArt Studios, gallery representations, and shows.
"I am blessed to enjoy life in getting to do what I want to do...paint. I really don't take myself that seriously and there is no deep seated angst or underlying meanings in my works at all. I just want to create art that I enjoy. I hope you also will enjoy these representations of my work."
