Michael's Story
After college, I went to law school in Minnesota and stayed. I married Heather McKay (she moved to Detroit at the end of 10th grade). She was a nurse and went to law school after we married and had our second of 2 daughters while in law school. Both daughters also became lawyers. One daughter is a full time mother in NC with 3 children (4 in July 2010) and our other daughter is a lawyer in Minneapolis with 2 children. We enjoying having family and grandchildren close. Heather and I worked together until 2012 when she retired. Our practice is bankruptcy and I have been a bankruptcy trustee since 1977. ve been in Florida for over 3 months each year, returning to cover Friday and Monday hearings once a month. I work most days from Florida and It beats working here when it is below zero. You can contact me at my email - mji at iannacone dot com.
In September 2009, we went to Italy, a first for me, and at the end of our tour, we went to Ischia to visit relatives from my mother's side of the family. We were touched by the warm welcome we received and met cousins we did not know existed. We would love to be able to return the hospitality. After living hundreds of miles from any relative, we now have 2 within 1 hour of us in Florida, my brother and one of my cousins. We look forward to making up for lost time.
