Michael's Story
Life Sept 2010
I married for a third time in 2005 and it's been great. We have a 2 1/2 year old boy. We both work in casino surveillance. Although I did not graduate from NLHS, due to my parents moving to Montville in 1986, I will always be a Whaler and will always be a member of the Class of '88. I had some good times and bad times during my school years, but I do miss all of you. My parents still live in Montville and I visit home every year. If you knew me at Harbor School, NLJHS or NHLS and are visiting Vegas, send me an e-mail. I'd be happy to show you around! I spend a lot of time volunteering with the 501st Storm Trooper Legion, a world-wide organization dedicated to Star Wars costuming. We do many events for charities such as Make-A-Wish along with personal appearances for LucasFilm. I had the honor of portraying a Storm Trooper at the 2008 Spike TV Scream Awards where George Lucas was given the Comic-Con Icons award. If you get a chance to see it, I'm the second one on George's right as he heads to the dais. Even made it onto the iMDB. I also built a life-size remote controlled replica of R2D2 which will be making appearances at Children's hospitals and charity events later this year. His first outing was at Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando, FL last month and I got to meet GL himself who gave me quite the compliment on the little bucket of bolts. I hope everyone is happy and healthy. I hope to see some of you again soon. I'm also on FaceBook.
College
I started attending College here in Nevada in 2003. I hope to finish my B.A. at UNLV by 2008. Funny, that will be the 20th reunion.
Workplace
In 1996, after eight years of being undecided on a career path, I took a job at Mohegan Sun as a surveillance observer. I moved to New Albany Indiana in December of 1998 as a Surveillance Shift Supervisor to open a riverboat casino owned by Caesars. In April of 2000 I transferred to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Come March of 2001, I moved across the street to the Bellagio. Now in March of 2005 my old boss from Bellagio brought me on board as part of the opening surveillance team of Wynn Las Vegas.
Early in 2010 I left Wynn Resorts and now work at the Hard Rock.
