After school Bob Popovich,Stan Blatt and myself joined the Marines and ended up in Viet Nam for a year. Bob and I ,actually ,ended up on the same hill for a month or so. He was artillery and I was a grunt ( infantry). We got to see the Bob Hope show in Danang.. That was way cool and Ann Marget was way " hot ". When we got back to the states , we were stationed in North Carolina together. We spent a lot time in Fayetteville North Carolina ( near Fort Bragg ) because that was were all of the good bars and girls were. We ran into fellow 1969 grad. Rex Williams in downtown Fayettecong (as he called it) . He took it upon himself to show us the town and Fort Bragg that night. That was definitly a life changing and mind altering experience. I got to see France , Italy ,Turkey, Greece, Spain and Sicily. Got out ,got married, to Linda Williamson ( CLASS OF 1971) had 2 boys ( Kyle & Keith) ,. They got married (Mandy&Sarah) who blessed us with 5 grandchildren ( 2yrs to 16 yrs ) and 1 more on the way We moved out here ( Johnstown ) in 1995 and have no intentions of moving back to Columbus . I should say , I have no intentions of moving back . I lost Linda to lung cancer on 9-6-2012. We were married for 39 yrs 10 months and 2 days. She was only 59 1/2 years old. She is truly missed. I am going to leave for now , maybe I 'll ad more later. I almost forgot ! Bob and I plan on terrorizing the roadways of Ohio this summer on our Harley's. So , if you happen to see a couple of old geezers on their black american made iron and they look familiar ? it might be us.
