My life story seems so long and complicated. I left Crystal Lake IL and moved to Fife, WA when I was 12 after my dad passed away. I Graduated from Fife in '89 and had no clue what I wanted to be when I grew up, so I joined the Marines. I went to boot camp in San Diego, Electronics School in Memphis and North Carolina. I learned to Scuba dive also while in Memphis (very relevant to my life) I was then Stationed in El Toro, CA W/C 610 (smartest people I knew, at least on Mid crew LOL). I figured I was going to be stationed there for the rest of my Career. I started making plans to open a dive shop and take flying lessons. That didn't work out quite as planned, as I ended up going to Japan for a year. Tons of Fun, many great memories...camping during a typhoon, Cliff and bridge jumping. Not very many sober moments, a few sobering (as Buzz flew out the 3rd story window). As I left Japan I was able to choose 3 places and I was guaranteed to get one.
