Michael's Story
Life
I was born at the Pensacola Naval Hospital on 10 Nov 57. I grew up as a military brat in Florida, California, Virginia and North Carolina. I graduated from JP Knapp High School in Currituck NC in 1975. I then attended College of the Albemarle until 1976 (getting a degree in Automotive Mechanics and deciding I did not want to do that for a living). I tried being a cashier, parts clerk, milk truck driver and heavy equipment operator before joining the Air Force in 1979. I went to basic training the day Skylab fell on 10 Jul 79 then went to Keesler for Personnel school. My first duty station was Little Rock and I stayed there for 5 years. Next I went to the Pentagon for 3 years where I retrained into programming (back to Keesler for programmer school). I was then assigned to Langley where I spent my remaining 12 years to retirement. After retirement I became the Sr Systems Analyst for Royce Information Systems where I have been since Jul 99. I am currently married to a wonderful woman Kathy (my first marriage was a disaster). I have been a stage IV cancer survivor since 2003 when I lost most of my right lung.
School
Being a Navy brat I attended several elementary schools in FL, CA, VA, and NC. I was able to stay in one High School though.
