Michael's Story
After leaving Wheelersburg High, I attended Auburn University where I got my degree in music education and later my masters. While there, I meet my wife, Mary Jemian. We were married in 1976 and have been together for the past 36 years. I have 3 children, Beth, Josh, and Gail. Josh and Gail are married and Josh has had his first child so I am a grandpa. I taught in 3 schools in Alabam, Notasulga High School, Andalusia Middle School, and North Jackson (formerly Stevenson and Bridgeport High Schools). While at Auburn, I became involved in the Campus Crusade for Christ ministry and God used that to change the direction of my life. In 1991, I and my family attended Quest, the entry program for Wycliffe Bible Translators, in...Expand for more
1991. In 1995, we left the US to go to Sentani, Indonesia where I teach music and lanquage arts (my minor) at the small international school located there. Mary and I recently returned to Sentani from the US and are looking forward to getting back to work here. I have always treasured the memories of Wheelersburg HIgh School. I especially remember the kindness shown to this ole Southern boy by so many of the students there. I will never forget Mr. McCoy who first put the idea into my head that I might make a good music teacher. As the years pass, some of the names fade, but the faces are still fresh in my mind. I hope all is well with the class of 1972 and I will always be glad for the years I spent there. GO PIRATES!!
