I left Watsonville at the beginning of my Senior year, family issues required us to move to Redwood City where I graduated from Woodside High School in 1968. But I've always consider Watsonville my Alma Mater. I continued my job with Safeway and enrolled at San Jose State in the fall of '68, but the work and the stress and a fair (OK! excessive) amount of partying caused my grades to crash. I wisely took the spring semester off to regroup when I got an offer to continue my studies overseas in "Conflict Resolution" and "Aggresive Negotiation Techniques" and my "Uncle Sam" was willing to pay my way with a full scholarship. I was Drafted. It was an offer I couldn't refuse. I came home two years later, much wiser, only slightly worst for wear and ready to pick up where I had been so rudely interrupted. I took classes when I could, work went well and promotion came quickly, I met a wonderful woman who became my lovely wife in 1974 and the mother of our two amazing children born in 1977 and 1982.
