Michael's Story
Hello everyone, well I've been alittle busy these past 20yrs, it has gone by quickly, well after graduation and working at Harvey'S Supermarket for awhile, I decided to join the military, I actually did a short time in the Marine Reserve's and finally joined the regular Army in Oct 1990, I was sent to Germany, that is a beautiful country, well the Gulf War was heating up and I volunteered to go fight, so I deployed there in Dec 1990 and stayed until May 1991, where I was sent back to Germany and then re-deployed back to the states. I arrived at Fort Campbell, Kentucky at the famed 101ST DIV around June 1992-1995. I went to Egypt for six months and after awhile I was sent back to Germany April 1995-1998, where I went to Bosnia for another six months on a peacekeeping mission, now that place is cold, the weather will get you. I then re-deployed to the states and arrived at Fort Lewis, Washington 1998-2000 and pretty much did the regular Soldier thing until I moved to Fort Hood, Texas, 2000 TO PRESENT TIME. he 10th anniversary of Desert Shield/ Storm for four months. I returned to Texas and after 9/11, we started getting ready to deploy to Iraq in support of the War on Terror. We finally deployed from Mar'2004-Mar'2005. I came back to the states and after alot of reorganization and training, I deployed again Nov' 2007 and this is where Im currently at until sometime 2009. I have never married and have no children and this Oct will be my 18th yr in the Army; but I'll have about 20yr of military service, strange!! I think I've said enough, take care. I hope evevryone remember me from my group of unique friends that i was always with and me having fun and smiling all the time.Well this deployment is coming to an end and I'm so glad, I should be back sometime in Feb'09. I will be coming to Blakely to see who ever I run into, I did 15 months this time and it was long and enjoyable at times. When I get back, I'll be getting ready to go to West Point Academy to train cadets and I think that will be enjoyable (I hope). Take Care everyone.
