Michael's Story
Left High School started college, joined the Navy, spent 32 total years and retired and am 100 disabled due to combat problems, spent 3 tours in Vietnam, and one in the Gulf and many years stationed everywhere. Married 3X, have lived alone for past 11 years, love motorcycles and rescue cats, have 6 of them. Own my home in Iowa, last lived in New Orleans, Have 2 children boy and girl, one lives in Dayton, OH and Bethel, Conn, both engineers, have 2 girl grandchildren one just born named camille and the other named norah. Got my BS at the Unversity of Iowa and my MS at the University of New Orleans in 94 or somewhere around there, live in Iowa City, Iowa, home of the Big Ten University of Iowa.
I always wanted to be a Teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
Go for a ride on my bike or play with my six cats
My cat rescue is my greatest obsession have had over 23 cats at one time, now only have 6 but still help with adoptions and resue work with cats
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel garage and add on a bigger garage. My dream home would be 4555 square feet.
Patience
Lived in a dorm and lived off campus which was much better, was lonely until I got married to my first wife who I was married to for 21 years
Done, retired from Navy,100% disabed, and gettign Social...Expand for more
Security disability
My best friend would tell you I'm very caring, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a loner.
Used to wear uniforms now wear very very casual dress, jeans and tees and sweats
I share my home with 6 cats, which I find loving and messy.
In 10 years, I hope to be still alive. I'm going to get there by keeping track of health.
My first job was at USN, where I got paid 63 a month to live. What I remember most about it is a hard life.
Take my bike out for a ride or go for a walk
The wildest thing I ever did in school was to start a heavy equipment dozer and watch it run into a train fence around a bridge or tunnel.
My inspiration in my life came from my father who worked his ass off while he was 60% disbalded from D Day, WWII
MY biggest surprise about my life has been that I always thought I would end up married and live in the country and watch football, baseball and do some gardening and would have grandchildren and live happliy ever after. My nightmare was a dream that I was in a room with a tv and I was old and alone and when i die I would lay there and rot for weeks until someone found me, almost made that dream come true, called self fulfilling prophesy, but I have modified it greatly and will probably die on my bike or trike or on a trip somewhere with my cats well taken care of
