Michael's Story
I am an accountant for a medical laboratory. 23 years and three cities later I now live in Atlanta. My son and his wife live in Atlanta They gave me my first grandson in December 09. My daughter and her husband live in LA. Their mother lives in Tennessee. We were together for 28 years and I've been quasi-single for several years. Being single has given me the opportunity to build closer relationships with family and to spend more time with friends and to serve God in ways I never anticipated.
My faith is the driving force behind my life and certainly the main reason I got through the separation. I sing in a rather large church choir (over 250 membe...Expand for more
rs). We sang in Louisville at the National Quartet Convention and at the Atlanta Civic Center in 2008. One of my friends asked me if they'd ever see me do a solo. I answered "Only if I sing when I'm not supposed to".
I am also an active tournament chess player, Treasurer of the GA Chess Association (I can be e-mailed through them) and a regular columnist for two chess magazines. I've had less time for that lately due to the choir activities, work, and a desire to travel to visit family and friends.
I was a pretty shy quiet guy in HS except with groups I was comfortable with (like the MRHS debate team and chess team). I'm considerably more outgoing now.
