Michael's Story

Life Jamaica High (I was the quiet one in the Core class), then Queens College, then 4-1/2 years in the Air Force (got out as a Reserve Captain). Married the love of my life while in the service in 1966, and we have an adult married son who lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and an adult married daughter who lives near us in Ocala, Florida. We lived on Long Island after I got out of the Air Force (1969-1995), and moved down here to horse country after I retired from a 25-year career with New York State as a tax auditor. My wife and I now live on a small (3-acre) farm, and we are in the thoroughbred racehorse breeding business small-time.

Sad day today. I had to have the vet clinic put 17-1/2 yr. old Peanuts to sleep, as I couldn't bear watching him waste away in front of me. He is with Sandy now on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge - he was her favorit

This is getting to be a laundry day ritual around here. You can see she is totally bummed about the election too:
Cat came down out of the tree at daybreak; not sure if she jumped or climbed down. Resting in her (my) favorite chair and mocking me for worrying about her.
Icy blasts of early winter? Not down here, where it was 65 degrees this perfect morning, and our horses love it.
We planted the back yard to winter rye a week ago, and it's already coming up. This is the "before" picture; if I post another one before Xmas, it will have grown like a Chia Pet.
