Michael's Story
Life
I am a husband and father to a wonderful family and an Elder at a very faithful and very small Presbyterian Church where I also teach the Senior High Schooler's Sunday School class and preach sometimes. I am a school teacher (Gifted Classes) at a middle school near Pittsburgh, PA. I've been married to my wife (who is an Architect) for 18 years. We had our first date on November 19, 1986. She is wonderful...I really don't deserve her! We have three children ranging in age from 8 to 13, a girl and two boys (but not in that order, actually it is Boy, Girl, Boy). And yes, if you are wondering, they are in the gifted program at their schools (important only because I teach Gifted classes!)!
We live on a quiet little farm, far from Shaler. Our time is spent mowing grass, raking leaves, or shoveling snow, feeding and "shoveling-up" after a few chickens and 5 goats (Lilly, Zeus, Apollo, Molly and little Thorin) and a cat named Tabby. As in any "normal" family, we are very bu...Expand for more
sy with kid's activities. My sons are both involved in Scouting, one of them is nearly an Eagle Scout and the other is a "Bear". The kids are involved in wrestling, Basketball and Soccer, and the two older children play instruments (French Horn and Saxophone). We enjoy lots of family activities from snow skiing to camping to playing cards. Last summer and fall a friend and I "put up" about 14,000 bales of hay and 2,000 bales of straw on some nearby land. Life is just about perfect there! Sure, the house is 112 years old, the paint is peeling in a few spots, the fields are overgrown in a few spots and the door knobs come off in your hand occasionally and it is literally windy in the kitchen sometimes! However, the prayers are said every night, and there is a pile of books beside every bed. And the future looks very bright.
I still get to see my closest friends from High School (in no particular order!) Brad Barboza, John Iezzi, Dave Schaffner, Brian Sell and Jim Seymour.
