Michael's Story
Dropped out in 74' to join the navy. Got married in 81' and had two children, one of each. Left the navy and decided to finally do something right and went to college at The Citadel in South Carolina where I got my undergraduate degree in electrical and computer engineering. Divorced a few years ago and have been working overseas since. Also decided that you can never be smart enough so I went and got my masters degree.
I've traveled extensively and have lived in a few different countries. I just turned 50 last October 31st........my god.
I remember some of the names I see here, but the faces have faded. The most amazing thing is how quickly life gains speed as you get older. It seems like it took and eternity to reach 25, and since then ...Expand for more
the years have just raced by. I've stopped wishing for time to pass and feel there is still so much to see and do. I live in Korea at the moment and don't see myself leaving for several years. I'm planning on going to Tibet, Bhutan, and Nepal sometime this year (2008).
I've been through most of Asia, Europe, and the Middle East (ugh!). Just like anything, some places have been great, some not so great. By the time I'm 60 I hope to have been to every continent with the possible exception of the Antarctic. It's just someplace I don't need to go too. So I guess I need to start saving for that trip to Argentina and Chile.
Oh, my nickname in high school was Rollo and my favorite teacher was Mr. Walker (Harold "Sugar Bear" Walker.....hahahaha).
