I currently live in the DFW area..
1976 ¿ About 1979, USAF stationed in San Antonio, then Denver, then Abilene Texas. While living in Abilene I also played in a C&W band.
1979 ¿ 1981 NJ ¿ NYC .. I worked as an Electronic Engineer during the week, playing in a rock band and bartending in Manhattan on the Weekends.
June 1981 Moved back to Houston. I joined Weatherford International. (Oil Field service company) and worked in the US doing electronics, computer work on drilling rigs (TX,OK,LA,MN,CA)
1982 In the fall I was transferred to England. I lived in a small village called Melton Mowbray in the middle of England. I split my time between Melton, London, Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.
1983 Again in the fall I was transferred to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. I spend about four years working a rotation of 3 months on and 1 month on vacation. I would travel through Europe and Asia on my months off. And sometimes stop through Houston.
1987 Transferred to Port Gentil Gabon, for what was supposed to be a short 3 month assignment. It turned into a 2 year job. Again I was working a rotation but this time a 2 month on, 1 month off schedule.
Another two years of vacationing in Europe.. It was rough
1989 Transferred back to Houston. Spent the next year or so, managing the South American operations. Weekends on the beach in Rio, Mar del plata.. And weeks in the jungles..
1990 In the spring I got fed up with being on the road so much and everything in my refrigerator being green when I got home. I passed the SEC Series 7 examination to be a stock broker. I took the summer off as I had a job that would let me start in the fall, and I figured when is the next time I will get to have a summer vacation!
1990 in the fall, shortly after I had started my new broker job, the company closed the office in Houston and transferred us to Dallas.
