Michael's Story
After Graduation from Bridgewater Raritan West in 69 I attended Somerset County Community College and then Glassboro State College. Got a Teaching Certification and no jobs. Worked a while, got married and went to Princeton Seminary. Graduated and was ordained a Presbyterian Clergy. Served in a Gettysburg church, a Kittanning, PA Church and then Uniontown PA Church. Finally got a Part Time position as a pastor of 2 small churches and went back for my certification in Special Education. Taught 18 years and have 2 years to retire from teaching.
During those years, My wife and I raised a daughter and 2 sons. Daughter Married and we have 2 Grandsons, all living in the Uniontown PA area. One son is in LA making it in the entertainment business, other son in Portland Oregon working on masters in counseling.
Life is full of changes, and it becomes more interesting as we open ourse...Expand for more
lves to one another and learn to live life to the fullest enjoying everything life has to offer. High school years were very tough for me, and I remember how misunderstood I felt. Once out on my own I found the freedom to express myself without fear. Life got a whole lot better, and even now my kids are able to live life enjoying the moment. They have also taught me many things about what really is important in life and that is what I try to strive in my teaching. In my work I have found how that attitude has helped so many young people overcome some of their own disabilities.
My kids also taught me the pleasure of travel. So I have enjoyed many wonderful years of summer travels all over the world. That also enriches ones perspective on the way you live life. I look forward to retirement so I can do more of the traveling I enjoy and see the world from a different perspective.
