Michael's Story
Life
Well, after graduation I entered into the NAVY and served 6 yrs and got out and joined the NAVAL RESERVES until Apr. 1991. Got married (the first time) in 1990, and married (the 2nd and last time) in 1999. Have two girls from my first marriage, they are 17 and 15. Have two sons from my second (hers), they are 26 and 21. Have two lovely grand-daughters (eldest son's), they are 3 yrs and 18 months. Made Baltimore County, MD my home. Lived in Westmoreland County, VA for about 10 yrs. before moving back to MD. Re-enlisted in the ARMY NATIONAL GUARD just after 9/11. Still serving in the GUARD to...Expand for more
this date and plan on retiring. Bought myself a motorcycle with the GUARD PAY, and enjoy riding and working on it. Spent 14 and half yrs in Facilities Engineering, but now found my groove working in a motorcycle shop.Left that job, because I was able to get a full time position as a civilian with the National Guard. I love my new position of two years now, working on helicopters and support equipment. Oh by the way you may have noticed I did change my last name from TRADER to WESTMORELAND!! Effective 31 October 2012, I have officially RETIRED from the Military with over 22 1/2 years of service.
