Michael's Story
Life
Following graduation from GHCC in '66, a short stint in the army, then 30 years of steady employment. I retired as a network engineer from the UW in 2008. I make my home, a small condo, in Edmonds, WA. I enjoy golf, computer games, target shooting, and brewing fine ales and lagers. In 2009 I met Ann and her daughter Keisha (aka Kulit, Tagalog for 'hyper'.)They live in Quezon on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. Having no one else, they are now my adopted family. Being a virtual Poppa from 6500 miles away is very different. I could much more supportive of Kulit as she struggled to catch up with the other students at her school. net. I hope to get over there this year and meet them.
College
1964 - 1966: Attended the first data processing course offered by the Community College system. I also continued with music activities, playing in jazz band.
1978 - 1981: Completed most of Seattle CC's Marine Technology program before switching to their Boatbuilding program.
2008 - 2009: Attended Renton Tech's Band Instrument Repair Program. Unfortunately a medical issue terminated any hope of playing wind instruments again.
Military
I was assigned to Fort Sill as a Pershing Missle Crewman instructor. I think the experience was good for me and I don't regret having served my country during a time when it was definitely not the popular thing to do.
