Michael's Story
Life
15 years is a long time in anyone's book, but sometimes I think it really is the milage and not the time that makes a difference.
So what did I do? Went into the Army that August after graduation, 11+ years in service during which I went to Europe twice, the Gulf twice, and Central America once (not counting smaller trips abroad for TDY). 1 standard foreign tour, two combat/expeditionary tours, 1 peacekeeping.
Married back in '90 (two weeks before leaving for DS/DS so it figures). Have two wonderfull part-time boys/part-time tasmanian devils (9 months 12 days apart, you do the math since both boys were 'bout a month premature). My wife passed away in the summer of '96 while I was in Sarajevo (one of those days you never forget, kinda sticks in the mind better'n memorex). ur time ran out.
With two kids figured the best thing was to get out (ironic it would be here where I signed up so long ago). Now I work for the US Customs Service
in Federal Law Enforcement, primarily drug interdiction.
What can I say about High School? From a kid who spent most of his life moving from place to place like most military brats do, PSH was as good a school to go to as any other, better than most. I made friends, and lost track of them just as fast though that seems to be a lifestyle hazard for those of us who have had to grow up this way. But Potomac was a good place thats left me some good memories to look back upon. Enough memories that for a "professional" nomad, it'll do for a start to build a home for my boys. To think that they could someday go to PSH. Gives me the hebejeebies think'n about it!
