Michael "Mikal"'s Story
Mikal E. Belicove is a magazine columnist, book author, and blogger who writes about entrepreneurship, marketing, business planning and corporate communications, emerging technologies, legal issues and more. The third edition of his latest co-authored book, The Complete Idiotâs Guide to Facebook, was published last fall.
Mikal writes the âAsk a Geekâ column for Entrepreneur magazine, The Business End blog for Forbes Magazine, the âEdTech Mattersâ column for Todayâs Campus magazine, and is a contributing writer to SUCCESS Magazine, Natural Foods Merchandiser and NewHope360.com. His thoughts and opinions have been featured in and cited over the years by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNBC.com, American Express OPEN, U.S. World & News Report, TheStreet.com, The Globe and Mail, PC World, and Yahoo! Previously, Mikal launched, managed and sold a Boulder, Colo.-based Internet start-up; worked in Acquisitions for John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (NYSE: JW.A) and Pearson plc (NYSE: PSO); and worked in a variety of staff and executive team roles for both Internet start-ups and not-for-profit organizations, including the Association for Experiential Education (AEE) and the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).
A 1986 graduate of Keystone College (La Plume, Penn.) and a member of Keystoneâs Board of Trustees, when heâs not working, Mikal can be found dreaming about training for half-marathons while trail running, playing table-tennis and enjoying life with family and friends in Las Vegas, Nev.
