Michael's Story
Born in Martins Creek,Pa. ,& attended Centerfield Grammar School before going to Bangor Jr.High School.Moved to Wind Gap,& attended Pen Argyl HS for Sophomore & half of Junior year before moving to Easton after my Dad died.Graduated from Easton HS in 1959.Played on the 1958 undefeated season football team.Then,went to Lafayette College,majored in Economics, played varsity lacrosse ,& graduated in 1963--thru ROTC,commissioned as a 2LT in the Army,Infantry,served on active duty from 1964-1966( Airborne/paratrooper).After my Army active duty,went on to Graduate School at Syracuse University & earned a MBA before moving to San Francisco to work.Stayed active in the U.S. Army Reserve afterwards,attained the rank of Colonel,& retired with 30 years of total service-- commanded Units throughout the U.S. as well as several high level Staff...Expand for more
positions including several tours & assignment at the Pentagon.
Business career spent in the bldg & construction products industry-- served as President & CEO of a couple of companies,last one being the Purdy Corp ,hqd in Portland,Oregon.Enjoyed international business--worked & traveled in the Far East region--Japan,Korea,Hong Kong,Singapore,Taiwan as well as European--France, ,Germany,Austria,Switzerland,Italy, & the U.K. Have worked & lived in NYC,San Francisco,Seattle,San Diego,& Portland,Oregon.
Met Shannon in San Francisco,& married in 1970.Have (2) children & (4) grandchildren,all in California.Moved into our retired home in 2005 in La Quinta,CA( Palm Springs area) on a golf course.
Staying active--work out 6 X/week at our fitness center,golf,swim,etc.Still enjoying international travel-- now for fun rather than business !
