Michael's Story
Michael has lived in Gainesville, Florida, for the past 40 years. Michael's schools include Southwest Miami High School, Miami-Dade Community College South (A.A. Fine Arts), the University of South Florida (B.A., Fine Arts), and the University of Florida (M.S., Ph.D., Entomology). He conducted research throughout the Caribbean, and Central and South America, and is the author or co-author of 112 scientific papers, book chapters, or books. Michael retired in 2013 but continues as a resident research associate at the Florida State Collection of Arthropods.. Michael and Sheila McCuiston have been married for 49 years; they have two children and four grandchildren.
