Michael's Story
Life....
It's been a long strange trip. I graduated from Auburn in '73 with a DVM, spent two years seven months and 18 days in the Army, most of which at Norfolk Operations Base and Ft. Monroe VA. In the Army working for the Navy, and the "boss" was an AF Lt Col stationed in the Pentagon. Went to Tampa FL in '76 and spent six and a half years treating Skin Skin and more Skin. My last position was Directior of Central Animal Hospital. We took the emergencies for 21 practices in the greater Tampa area. I was fortunate to secure a residency in Radiology at Texas A&M from 82-85 and then joined the faculty at Michigan State University, then on the Mississippi State for ten years and finally at the University of Illinois since 2001. Now in December 2007, I have returned to Mississippi State as a Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences.
I have managed to stay single.
Currently I go to Provodicinale...Expand for more
s, Turks and Caicos, yearly for two weeks to get relaxed and recharged. I have slowed down on my SCUBA diving and UW photography, but like Ansel Adams, I have enough raw material to keep me busy for a long time, especially now that we are in the era of digital photography. I still have my "F" F3 and Nikonos III and V gathering dust in the closet. The slide scanner hums right along generating megabytes of images.
I have also joined a hunting club in beautiful Pine Apple AL and zip around on our lease (1800 acres) with a Yamaha Rhino. The majority of the other members are Cajuns and even when the hunting is slow, the food is world class!!
I have lost touch with most of you which is not too surprising. I only return to AL twice or three times a year to see my sister who is a nursing supervisor at RMC and visit my mother, who is in an extended care facility there. A stroke in '03 has pretty much wiped her memory.
