Mike's Story

Life As of Dec 27th, 2009 Michaelle and I were married for 28 years. She currently has a Greek Fraternity/Soriety store at Elon University which is just a few minutes from our house in Burlington, NC. I'm working with a company called Teleflex Medical. We manufacture and sell items used in surgery and health care. I managed to avoid a layoff when the plant I was in shut down in Dec. I am now at another Teleflex facility the is actually 5 minutes closer. I'm still in materials management which is pretty much what I have been doing since I graduated from Wake Forest. We have 2 sons. Kevin is the oldest and is built just like my brother Steve. Kevin graduated in May of 2009 from Gardner-Webb University. He was one of 8 in his class to graduate with a 4.0. He still enjoys being outdoors; biking, running, hiking, and camping. He is currently on a 6 month trip in India. Spencer decide to go to Gardner-Webb a...Expand for more
s well. He is currently in his sophomore year. I'm afraid Band won out over football. Spencer plays the bass guitar in a band and they have been booked almost every weekend since the start of this school year. He has declared Psychology as his major. I can't imagine music not being in his future. Michaelle & I enjoyed having them at the same school for a year. They did marching band together, so we went to several football games in the fall of 2008. Spencer is continues to be active in Young Life and is a leader with the middle school group in his college community. Michaelle and I miss the boys but as empty nester's have enjoyed the opportunity to just go out to eat together without the boys. We are still active in church, focusing most off our volunteer efforts with youth groups. Mom and Dad have retired in a golf development just outside of Burlington, which is nice and Steve is still in Colorado.
