Michaelyn's Story
Very happily married to an incredibly smart electrical engineer Mike..I have 3 wonderful and beautiful girls of my own: Taylor 23, and Shelby and Samantha 20. Also a beautiful step daughter Kelli from which I now I have two amazing grandchildren. Going on my 28th year at the Phoenix Police Dept. and love it!
I enjoy lifting weights ..I have always been athletic in grade school and high school but it wasn't until after I met my husband and into my thirties that I developed a passion for free weights.. My husband has been an avid weight lifter since he was 9 years old and has won numerous bodybuilding competitions over his lifetime including the Mr. Arizona 2X in the early nineties. He gave up the competing though and went back to school and became an electrical engineer...and it wasn't until the early 2000's when I finally convinced him to get back and do one more show after being out of it for 10 years so I could behold the beauty of that physique with my own eyes...hahaha.
Anyway.. I ended up getting in such good shape because of all the working out dieting with him that his workout partner thought that I should try and do a natural bodybuilding show. Solo...with a lot of nagging ...Expand for more
from the both of us, I talk to my husband, well at that time boyfriend into training me and choreographing a bodybuilding routine. I completed two times.. My first show I placed first in novice and second in the all around and my second show I did was a national qualifier..The mid USA and I took 1st in the light weight division and second in the all-around. That as the extent of my bodybuilding career...and my husband's as well. We decided too much time and dedication to just one thing when there's so much more to life. We still lift 5 days a week and do cardio.. But nothing is obsessive... Life is about moderation! Eat a piece of pizza or two and wash it down with Hershey bar for Pete's sake! Hahaha
I posted a few pics to show off my hard work I'm very proud of. I was in my 30's and had already had 3 kids..that was including a set of twins!! So you're never too old!
My girls are beautiful.. They are all in school and working. The twins still trying to figure out what they want to do in life in ..and Taylor my oldest finishing up business. I recently went to the 30th reunion and it was nice to see old faces!
I hope this post finds all my old friends as happy and healthy as I am!
