Michele's Story

Life Hi all my old Trona people. I'll leave alittle of my recent bio here for you all to read. I'm a grandma now. On the 8th of Jan,2005 my oldest daughter Belinda had alittle boy. (don't seem like Im old enough for this) She named him Brayden J. Alexander. So precious. I'm just lucky enough for her to live in the same town as I do so I can spend plenty of time with her and be of help to her if she needs it. I have 2 other children. Matt is 16 and a handful. Now I see why my mom always had headaches when I was a teenager. Hard to raise and even harder to discipline. He isn't into any sports except skate boarding(is that a sport? they say it is) All in all Matt is a joy. Amanda is my youngest and she is 14. My gosh talk about outgoing. Yes,for those of you who remember me know I was a outgoing type of person. Actually,I didn't really begin being really outgoing until I hit about the 8th grade. That's where Amanda is now. I've been married for nearly 20 yrs to John. I've heard once you hit the 10 yr mark in your marriage,it's "suppose" to be easy sailing. Ha,I wonder who came up with that little quote??????? HA HA HA. He's a great guy. Let's see what else can I tell you? I've lived in Oklahoma since I left Trona. (This is home now but I'll always have the memories of my days as a trona rat) I live in Western Okla where it's nothing but flat land. The further East you go it's got mountains and it's just beautiful but here all I have surrounding me is cows and more cows. A few big trees from time to time. But it's home and I love it. School Ahh,who was my biggest crush? Let's see,I'd have to say Mike McCurdy.Thought I couldn't live without him at one time. I managed though. It asked me here what teacher inspired me most? I'm not real sure on that one. I'll say the teacher I was scared...Expand for more
of most or dreaded to see was Mrs.Fagin. Oh gosh she was a mean one. Never was so glad to get out of any grade except 6th grade. I'm gonna say my favorite teacher was our math teacher in 8th grade.Mr.Griset. Or Ms.Drummond. Not sure of the spelling. My funniest school memory was when our 8th grade English teacher Mrs.Burton chased me around her classroom with her "yard stick" I still remember that day very clearly. Telling me she was going to get me. HA,I could walk faster than she could run.As we all know she never did catch me but Mr.Long sure got me.It even made Tammy(McCurdy)Tenny laugh and we all know how quiet she was. One of the craziest school memories I have is in 1st hour one day Lori (Gore)Todd walked in and she had got a comb or curling iron stuck in the very front of her hair and she had cut it out. OMGosh, she looked like a unicorn and I remember laughing so hard everytime I looked at her. She was my best buddy in school so it was more like laughing WITH her NOT at her.One of my happiest times in school was when I finally got out of 8th grade and got to leave Mr.Long at the middle school while I went on to the High School. Seems he followed me right on up each time I changed schools. I bet he was glad to see me go also! Starting in the middle of my 7th grade year all the way thru my 8th grade year nearly each day I got off the bus there he stood waiting for me. To the office I'd go. Knew his office pretty well after the 8th grade. While Mrs.Long stood at the girls lockers each time we changed classes saying "Ms Archuleta get your books and hurry onto class" Boy those were the good ol days. Workplace This is where I add my work bio. I work in Home Health. I really enjoy the medical field and one day (soon I hope) I'll get my nerve up and get my RN license. Wish me luck.
