Michele's Story
I am single (divorced) and happily so. My schools include East Leyden High School, U of I and Rock Valley Community College where I received an AA in Psych. I then (many years later, btw!) attended UoP for my BSIT then Keller Graduate School of Management and attained two degrees, an MSIM and an MBA. I work at AbbVie after working at Abbott Laboratories, starting in 1998. I'm a Senior Computer Engineer at AbbVie and am loving every minute of it. I've been able to do some overseas traveling for business which has been awesome (especially since I don't have to pay for it!) and have been to Japan, Germany, Brussels, France and Ireland
I've been listening to Deuce, Volbeat, Godsmack, Disturbed, Device, and, as always, since HS, Rush. I am a horror fan, as far as books are concerned, with some sci-fi thrown in.
I have a 21-year old son who currently works as a diesel mechanic (yep, on the big rigs) and lives in Davenp...Expand for more
ort, IA. LOVES his job, HATES Davenport but plans to move back to the Chicago area when his contract is up in March 2014.
While I'm not the toothpick I was in HS (thankfully!!), after a major health issue 6 years ago (spontaneous lung collapse - didn't even know that was possible, but apparently, it is...) that included several surgeries, multiple chest tubes, lots of drugs, including steroids that lead to a relatively short-lived but very large unhealthy weight gain; I'm finally; for the first time in my life, at a normal, healthy weight for my height. It's very weird...:)
My life is good, much too busy at the time due to business separation activities; but in a good way. I'm more than happy to be with AbbVie IT versus Abbott IT (if you know any Abbott or AbbVie IT people, just ask them about "The Way We Work")
I and my two rescued German Shepherds Kelsey and Captain, are quite content with our lives together.
