Michele DeMary:

CLASS OF 1976
Green bay, WI

Michele's Story

Life Hello to my colleagues from Southwest. Green Bay seems like such a long time ago. I moved away shortly after I graduated from college. I moved to southeastern Massachusetts and worked in politics and state government for a dozen years. I joined a local theater company (an avocation I continued from high school years) and fell in love with my leading man. Twenty-four years later and we're still married. His name is Lee Fortier. He's a Public Defender. We have no children, but we do have two cats. I eventually returned to graduate school (it had always been in the back of my mind) and got a PhD in political science from U-Mass. I'm now in a tenure-track teaching job at a small liberal arts college in central PA -- Susq...Expand for more
uehanna University. Lee and I have a home in Fairhaven, MA, but I'm in PA for much of the school year. And I received tenure this year so it looks like I'll be there for a while. Crazy as it may seem to some, I always did like school. Now I get to be in school full-time! For those who knew my family, my sister Kim ('79) is married and lives with her husband and son (10 years old) in Brookfield, IL. My father died seven years ago and my mother relocated to Oak Park, IL to be near my sister. As a result, I have no more family in Green Bay and haven't been back in over 6 years. I think of Green Bay and those years at Southwest often, especially the time spent in the music rooms and the stage. Best wishes to all, Michele
