Michele's Story
Married my "Mr Right" right out of high school. We celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary this July. We have a daughter, a grandson, son-in-law and an 'inheireted' grandson. In fact, our daughter has her profile under 'Jennifer (Dougherty) Carter', Hoover class of '88. We retired in '04 and are what are called "workampers". Which means we live in our 5th wheel full-time and travel from campground to campground working for our site and money. Right now we are in Red Bluff CA (Northern CA) working as Managers of a brand new RV resort. We will probably be here for awhile. Our other 'assignments' include the Ponderosa Ranch, Home of Bonanza', Olema Ranch Campground, just North of San Francisco, West Sacramento KOA, Lake Berryessa Marina Resort Napa and Le Sage Riviera Grover Beach. and are now working at Hat Creek Resort and RV in Old Station CA. Old Station is located off of Highway 44 about 50 miles East of Redding CA. Having a ball. Any of you fishermen out there come join us for opening day of Trout season, April 24th. We are right on Hat Creek and they will be stocking it this week. Would love to see you. Another update: We have moved again. We are now in Salinas CA working at the newly converted Salinas/Monterey KOA. This is how it is with workampers. We are hoping to stay here for awhile as it is closer to family and friends. Again, would love to see you, so come on by. We are on the move again. We have now moved to Columbia CA and are working as the General Managers of the 49er RV Ranch. We are just down the road from Columbia State Historic Park, which is just outside of Sonora. Enjoying the beautiful gold country. This is what workamping is all about. Come by and say HI!
