Michele's Story

I am here at classmates.com because as I was surfing the net doing some reseach for work, the ad popped up. As a teenager, I always felt cheated out of a "normal" life when my parents moved me away from what was my home, Cuyahoga Falls to Marietta when I was 16. I had established friendships from Elementary School through Jr. High (Sill Jr. High back then) and although we tried to stay in touch - busy lives sepearted us. I have always wondered in the back of my mind what my best friends in Jr. High were doing now. There were five of us that we inseperable; Debbie, Jackie, Apirl, and Rosealie. I had heard from Rosealie at one point in time - a few years back she called out of the blue - she caught me up on what she knew about each one of you. I was in the Cuyahoga Falls area attending a cousins wedding and took a trip down memory lane. I drove down Tudor Street, where I grew up (it is a lot shorter street then I remembered), went by Sill Middle School, and even went to the Chapel Hill Mall where we spent many a Saturday's hanging out! :) I am a single mom with three grown children in the army. They got the calling after 9/11 - dropped out ...Expand for more
of college one by one and joined the miliary. My youngest, John Russell has been in Iraq for 12 months and is back in the states. My middle son Stephen is in Iraq now and will finish his 15 month tour in February. My oldest daugher, Heather is serving in Georgia. She is the only one that is going to make the miliary her life (at the moment). The other two are finished in early 2009 and anxious to get back to college and on with their lives. My ex-husband passed away a year ago - so I am truly a single mom now. I have two grandchildren, Hannah and Mylak however, I have been blessed with good genes and do not look nor feel like a grandma or "meme" as my granddaugher calls me. I work full time at a local university as a Director of the corporate and community education divison and love my job. I am working on a state-wide project that is keeping me very busy. ALOT has happened to keep my life interesting over the past 25-30 years! And although I felt cheated as a teenager, when my parents ripped me from my home and moved me at 16, I would not change my life for the world. I would love to hear from my old friends.
