Michele's Story

I attended Ingraham High School until June 1979 when I moved and attended Washington High School until graduation in June 1980.
After high school I worked two jobs for a year to save money to go to college. I attended Western for one year, living in Alpha dorm. I then transferred to the University of Washington. I lived off campus and worked at the Seattle Times. Eventually I graduated from the UW with a degree in Speech Communication.

. I worked on a number of interesting projects in Internal and External communications, and government affairs and foundation communications. My last assignment was as co-managing its centennial celebration which included a traveling museum, book and videos.
I married Dave Nelson in 2000 and moved to Bothell. In March 2002 we had our first son, AJ (now 6), and had our second son, Owen (now 3), in August of 2005.
Currently, I volunteer at AJ's elementary school two days a week and Owen's preschool class two days a week. I volunteered at a local thrift store for a year and now work there 5 hours a week in the book section and also research the value of vintage books.
