Michele's Story

Now, everyone sit down. I decided to shock you all and prove I could make my writing less than a book. It would disappoint my creative writing teacher, though. But time is shrinking. So, forget the high points on my journey here since '68. I enjoyed our 49/50th reunion in October 2017. Since it will be our last I felt some melancholy as I left. But I reconnected with some great friends with whom I spent four wonderful years, having so many adventures. It was so crowded there that I missed some others. I think all will agree how fast the years have flown by. Body is 68 (profile pix at 63), but my mind is somewhere around 18. Proud of that. Though I have been through a lot along the way, my basic humor and personality are intact. I might be the...Expand for more
poster child for learning things the hard way, learning from the bad as well as the good. This much I know is true... there are way more questions than answers, and I'm not concerned about that fact as much. Still asking, though I don't expect an answer like I did in my youth. Now I kiss it off. Let it go. And leave the past where it belongs. I wish those who are still on the planet well, with many more years of happiness and hopefully, good health. I miss those gone and keep them in my heart. Especially my brother, Mark '73, with whom I shared a wicked sense of humor... our acid test for living life. I have a snarky joke for you, little brother. After I trip over the final line, I'll share it with you. Still standing... ML

On a message board today a cranky Trumpy supporter said to me, “Your stupid.” And you just know I’m not going to pass that one up. It’s not “your” so “You’re stupid.”
Yes...
Looking through my old film photos; a place I lived several years ago was on a hill, so I got to see some amazing sunsets. The sky had this solid blanket of clouds and when the sun was setting it suddenly turned the clouds
Sunrise on that same hill... also, film photo. I think there are so many great things about digital, but the natural, real, first-shot look is gone because endless adjustments and Photoshopping are available to alter photo
So many face palms this past year, hundreds of them. And eye rolling, head banging, talking to myself and some hair pulling.
The Little Chapel... you want snow?
Merced River optical illusion reflection...
Hard to believe a sunrise can be so beautiful, with the clouds creating a painting. (No Photoshopping; true colors. I use a framing application.)
Seriously now... where are the girls??
A mommy and her kids ran across the meadow so fast I barely captured them. The kids were hopping all around each playing... so cute.
Pretty pastel sky tonight...
Woo hoo to this clever "Jesus"...
Hahahaha... I am certain that Obama's read it; just as certain that Donnie hasn't even read a CliffsNotes version.

Thunder and lightning and rain, oh my! Supposed to be in the 90s within a week! Yes! (Glad I didn't wash my car yet.)

Because I'm thinking of an emerald green spring in Yosemite. I took this so many years ago it was film, not digital. So no Photoshop to enhance colors (I don't do that anyway); it was this amazing deep green. Greens and blu

It could be so much worse. The Merced River flooded Yosemite Valley in 1997, taking out roads, moving huge boulders and countless buildings.
Snow White & Lydia... I was telling you about my unplanned photos. This was @ Glacier Point in Yosemite. I had slipped on some gravel and fell on my butt. While I was trying to get back up with some dignity I looked between
