Michele's Story
I am a 1965 graduate of SLR Academy, having attended high school there beginning in 1962.
I have lived in San Diego since 1970. I received my BA in Spanish from SDSU in 1970, and MA in Religious Ed from USD in 1988, and I volunteered in parish work and in choirs for many years. I retired as a letter carrier in 2005. I am a lay Oblate of St. Benedict affiliated with Prince of Peace Abbey (formerly St. Charles Priory) in Oceanside. I am single and have two cats, Mercy and Princess.

siblings now live there, too. I would often spend time with my family over there. Both parents have now passed away (Dad in July 2010 and Mom in April 2012), but I still plan to visit the siblings now and then. In 2010, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, for which I received an autologous bone marrow transplant in November 2011. I am receiving excellent treatment and am doing well. I am active in my parish, am involved in amateur classical singing, enjoy my family and friends, and am very grateful to God for all his blessings in my life.
