Michelle's Story
My Life
I have been married 33 yrs. this May to the goofy Yankee from Green Bay I met on a blind date in the Spring of my Sr. year.
Thank you Ray Dinstel for the one blind date that wasn't with a Troll!
We have a son, Jason 29, who is a Pumper for Devon Energy in the Groesbeck area and a daughter Amanda 27, who is an ASE certified Auto parts specialist in Huntsville, she is married with 1 son Trace 9, and stepson Buddy 11.
Both boys are the Light of our lives.
We've live 50 miles North of Houston in the country for 19 years and built our dream house 7 years ago. We have 4 horses and enjoy trail riding with friends in the National Forrest.
Also have 3 dogs, a blue healer, Welsh Corgi, and Rat Terrior, and 2 cats, 7 ducks and 3 chickens.
We enjoy traveling Texas, tubing the Frio on our annual trip to the Hill Country and antiquing for my many collections & fishing Lake Conroe.
I have been blessed to be a stay at home Mom since my children were born. I consider it to be the most important & rewarding job a woman can do.
We try to live our lives for the LORD and He has Blessed us beyond our expectations.
Both of my parents and my only sister have passed away.
My brother Mark lives in the Cy Fair area.
College
I entered Texas Wom...Expand for more
an's Univ. in Denton right after high School as an Occupational Therapy Major. Studied there 3 1/2 years then continued at the Houston Medical Center until 1977.
After 5 yrs. of working and going to school...total burn out.
I had gotten married in 1976 and commuted to the Med. Center, adding to the stress.
When I flunked my 3rd. Psychiatry test and my Prof. looked at me and said "I think you're having a difficult time juggling marriage and going to school"...I took it as a sign!
With Paul's ok...I chucked school just shy of qualifying for my 9 months of clinicals, to work full time as an Activity Director in a nursing home.
Very rewarding work, so when my kids didn't need me at home any more, I returned to that field in '95 and worked for 3 yrs. until I became sick and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I do well now thanks to my meds.
My husband was diagnosed last Oct. with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
The Fibrosis is stable at this time but has left him with deminished lung capacity.
Should the Fibrosis become active again he could require a Lung transplant.
We live day to day with Faith in the LORD and trust that He will continue to bless Paul with enough breath to continue working and have quality to his life.
