Michelle's Story
So many years to get into a few words.....here goes:
Most importantly, I have a wonderful husband who doubles as my best friend, 3 marvelous children, and 2 precious grandchildren. Don and I love to dance on the Northside and enjoy our family more than anything else in the world. Angela is the eldest and an "angel" just as her name implies; she is married to a precious man who I adopted into our family long before they were married...LOL;-) They have two young children who light up our world. Christine is the "middle" and is over-the-top creative; she is getting her masters in architecture...I am most delighted that she is by far the sweetest girl I have ever known. Bryan is the youngest though he is now taller than me and turns the heads of all the youg ladies who work with me;-) He is going to college and lifeguarding....he adores his family first while loving the company of lifetime friends. We lost daddy in 93, but mom is 81 years young and a cancer survivor...she is quite the inspiration and still lives right down the street from PHS!
I have such good friends from so many different paths and walks of life. I am always amazed at the unique gifts and beautiful qualities that make each of them so special to me, to my family. I wish we all lived in close enough proxemity to commune more often, but we do pretty well...especially now that social media has given us the easiest forum yet! Since you are here on the Paschal Years of Classmates.... I still talk regularly to Kurt Schuster (I accuse my husband of stealing my friend away with talk of classic cars and Cowboys football) and Arlene Appel Kleinberg who is in NY now (even had a girl's weekend at a B&B last summer)...and a few others on FB....find us....I am Michelle Miller now:) I am sorry to have lost touch with so man...Expand for more
y and hope that we can reconnect in at least a small way.
Everything else seems to pale in comparison, but otherwise since I left Paschal....I went to Kilgore and had 2 splendid years as a Rangerette before transferring to TWC (Texas Wesleyan...now TWU...LOL), worked for a couple of dance companies teaching around the US (National Cheeleaders Association and Marching Auxilliaries), directed a drill team (Brewer High School's Honeycombs), taught preschool (UUMC...might remember it as Mathews Memorial....right across the street from Paschal), was an ABA (behavioral) therapist working with autistic children, volunteered in PTA... even got to start up and direct the flag corp at North Crowley when it opened, and had a 7 year career at The Container Store ( including a relocation to MO to open/manage the first location in that state). Retail pooped me out, but at least I had returned to G-d's country here in Texas, so this year I took a 6 month sebatical and decided to find the place where I can have the most positive impact on the future as I work these last 15 years or so. I prayed and reflected, reflected and prayed, and just after I got to visit my new grandson in CA, I came back looking for a position teaching 3's...my very favorite of all ages! It must have been a G-d thing that led me to Trinity Lutheran....I LOVE my 3's, my director, the staff, the parent, the pastor...I literally feel as if I found a "home" with a "family" to spend my working hours.
Well....that is it in a nutshell....as we "downsize the things" in our lives, we hope to grow the friendships and the love of family which is what we hold most dear. Please let me hear from you...it is wonderful to get to the point in life where there aren't 5 urgent things demanding my attention at the same time...hugs....'chelle
