Michelle's Story
Life
I've lived in Oakland since 1993. I live in a warehouse in Fruitvale, which has its ups and downs. My live in fiance' is a writer and is currently teaching himself some computer language, which I'm trying not to pay attention to. My last serious boyfriend was a woodworker and I now know far more about tropical hardwood than I ever wanted to.
School
I stayed in college for as long as possible (I think it ended up being about 9 years). Freshman year at San Diego State University...Expand for more
. Totally overwhelmed, came back home to CSM for three years of art classes, ballet and fencing with the odd academic just to mix it up. Ended up with an improved GPA and great calves. Transferred to California College of Arts and Crafts and finished my BFA there. Loved it so much I stayed for my MFA.
Workplace
I've been lucky to mostly work in my field, which is Ceramics. Right now I'm teaching Ceramics at Hillsdale High School, through an odd twist of fate. Ask me any thing ;P.
