Michelle's Story
Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing well. Let me start with trying to remind you who I am. Well, I wasnât a cheerleader or on ASB thatâs for sure, though I do regret not trying out for things like that. The truth is I missed a lot of school, not because the work was too hard or because I didnât have any friends, there were other reasons. Anyways, I havenât changed much, except for curling my bangs up 6 inches off the top of my head!! Oh my God, what where we thinking??? I got along with everyone but loved to see what kind of trouble I could get in and out of. I guess I was sort of a rebel only sweeter. My best friend was Billie Helms. My first boyfriend was Gabriel Rodrigues. The first boy I ever danced with was Alex Alcantara and I was there when the class of 94 painted B-Hill. Since High School I have two wonderful sons. Michael Melton is my oldest and he will be 20. My youngest came 12 years later and his name is Gabriel Rankin and will be 8. I spent a lot of years working jobs like K-mart, Wal-mart, and even did the Pizza thing. I then went back to college for 4 years to earn two degrees and a teaching certificate. Now I could say I have one of the most rewarding jobs ever! I help teach students with Autism and other disabilities Cognitive Skills and Life Functioning Skills. I am with the Silver Valley Unified School District and have been for the past 3 years.
So , life has had its ups and downs (as Iâm sure we all can say), I try to focus on all of the good things I have, to me those are the things that money cannot value or replace; the love of my children and family, the support of my true friends, and the grace God shows me every day.
