Michelle's Story

After high school, I went to nursing school. I graduated in 1980. I enjoyed being an RN. I worked at Morristown Memorial for several years. I got married April 21,1985 and worked through Temp agencies doing private duty nursing. Jason came along April 15th 1986. I then worked at Morris View and really enjoyed taking care of our older population. My second pregnancy was difficult. Jordan was born August 23,1989. We didn't know at the time but he was to have many problems. We moved to Minnesota when he was 7 months old because Gary, my husband was transferred. Underneath, we were brought here because this baby needed what M...Expand for more
innesota had. The medical care in MN far surpasses NJ(at least it did then) I was being told there was nothing wrong. I would have liked to have been wrong. when they did the CT scan and almost half his brain wasn't there, that was just the beginning of the nightmare. Now Jordan is about to turn 19 and in a group home. Jason is attending U of M. Gary lost a leg in 2003 and I had a severe back injury in 2001. We both are unable to work. I'm stuck laying down most of the time but during the summer I can be outside. I have a 4 1/2 pound teacup pomeranian who is my little girl, candy. Life could be better but it is what it is.
