Michelle's Story
Life
All, my life after graduating from Kellam had many ups and downs. I got married, had two children and my husband died in 1977. I lived a carefree life for several years after my husband died, and was trying to find oneself. Eventually, I secured a job with the Federal Government in 1978, and have been moving forward in a career of Human Resources, Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity for almost 30 years. If you all remember, I was very active at Kellam in the area of diversity and equal rights. I have travel all over the world and recognized by peers in the EEO community within the Federal government as one of the best subject matter expert in human capital and EEO.
I never remarried, and have lived a very comfortable life raising my daughters and getting them ready to start their adult life. One is now married with three children, and the youngest graduated from college with high honors and is a Phi Beta Kap...Expand for more
pa. I am very proud of what each has accomplished. My career has been a great one. I look forward to retiring and doing something a little less stressful. I still model these days but as a plus and/or full size, we all can't be skinny. I love it in my spare time. In my career and working life, I mentor others to prepare them for the future and I continue to be a people magnet. I still believe in justice for all and fight to help the less fortunate. I am in the process of writing a book, look for a series of them with the first one "Dancing on the Edge", it promises to be a barn burner. Look for publication 2012.
I have mature, but still young at heart. I look forward to all of what life has to offer. With saying that, be true to yourself, have the courage to go on when life deals you disappointment. It gets better if you have the will to succeed. Love to all and hey when are we going to have another class reunion?
