Michelle's Story
Wow, I'll be 45 in February 2009 and my best friend from Heritage, Diane Maki ('83) called today to tell me we have been friends for 27 years! Where has the time gone? I still live in Colorado, but moved to Parker after living 12 years in a small mountain town (Lake City) where my family immigrated to before Colorado was a state. I was married long enough to have 2 beautiful girls, ages 8 and 10, who keep me young at heart, spirit and mind.
I have very fond memories of high school and became a secondary English teacher in a one-room schoolhouse for 3 years. nce and chaperoned the dance. It brought back so many memories of our sophomore year when we built the homecoming float at my house.
I've been an insurance agent and worked with Jana Drinkwine ('82) for several years. In the 90's I landed a job in sports promotion and was the promotions/marketing assistant for the first Denver Grand Prix. After the Grand Prix declared bankruptcy, I continued promotions for the Colorado ski industry. Eventually I fell in love, realized constant business travel was hard on a realtionship, returned to school and became a teacher. I've recently remarried (June '06), have 3 cats,2 rabbits, pay a mortgage, drive a mini van, own my own company(Corr-Tech Engineering Services) and volunteer a lot at the girls' charter school.
