Michelle's Story
Life
I'm married with 5 kids living in a new house (since Jan 2005) a block away from where I grew up. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University with my MBA - it took me five years. I'm taking a year off before I start in a doctoral program. Gosh - the years go by - My oldest is in college.
This year my husband and I are finally going on our honeymoon to Las Vegas & Hawaii (15-day trip) - I so need this. Do you think any of the kids are going? Well, my four year old is - my husband won't dare leave him for that long period of time.
School
My english teachers inspired me most. My craziest school moment was dating this guy for a couple years that when he became a senior, he had no time for me. So I wanted to break up with him. To my surprise, he had a letter typed for me (which he said was a month prior). It nearly broke me in two. I had my best friends Carol & Marcia crying with me all day about it. It was an awesome experience because I didn't realize that other guys noticed me until after the breakup.
College
Undergrad at UF (Gainesville) was crazy. It was my first time away from my mom...Expand for more
and it was really hard to concentrate / retain anything I studied. Unfortunately, I didn't finish my degree there. It wasn't until years after marriage and 4 kids that I completed my degree at Lynn University (Boca Raton, FL), which was very challenging with the demands of work and family.
Workplace
While in high school, I loved my job at Mickey Ds and learned everything I could. My favorite was throwing the parties except when the kids were BAD. I loved it so much that I continued to work summers there during college. I eventually quit because the district manager didn't pay me two weeks one summer and told me I wasn't a good employee. What? I eventually called the head office and it was an error on my manager not turning in the homework. To this day, when I visit a Mickey Ds and they don't fold my bag right, I refold it the correct way (in front of them) and then leave.
Military
The only thing close to military training I've done is hire a personal trainer for 7 months. It was seriously tough and I'm forever grateful because I was able to lose 45 pounds. Hopefully I can keep up the regimen.
