Mike is from Mansfield, Ohio. She is married. Her schools include Mansfield High School. She later attended Bowling Green State University (Political Science, Sociology).

I graduated from Mansfield Malabar High School in 1987. I then went to Bowling Green State University, and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science major and a minor in Sociology. I came back to Mansfield after college, and married Mike Bechtel in 1994. I have held several jobs since I came back home, including, substitute teacher, teaching at-risk youth, handling auto claims for State Farm, and my current position, which I just started a little over a year ago. I have 2 daughters, ages 10 and 6, and they keep us busy 24/7. I am currently training for the Capital City 1/2 marathon, which is in Columbus, Ohio on May 2.".
