Mike's Story

After high school, I went to the Naval Academy. Upon graduation I 1. got married to my wife Suzie from Oklahoma and 2. joined the Nuclear Submarine force. I served on three submarines and had one tour as an instructor at the Naval Academy. While I was not at sea, I was able to have two wonderful daughters, Kym born in 1970 and McRae, born in 1976 (at the Naval Academy). ed for an engineering firm Stone and Webster. I was on Nuclear projects in Conn. Tenn. and Texas. In 1993 I joined the New Your Power Authority. In 1998 I moved to New Hampshire and joined a power plant Seabrook Station. In 2004 I joined Bechtel Corp at the Yucca Mountain Porject in Las Vegas. I retired in 2008 to Portland OR where my two daughters and 4 grandkids (8,6,3,2) live. I do some consulting work now when I get bored.

Natchez Trace century. Rode with brother Laird. 61.7 miles 3 hr 55 min 15.7 mph, 1st metric century ever under 4 hrs!!!!
