Mike's Story
Life
After completing an 'extra' long high school 'career' and graduating in 1969 I took my time and graduated with Honors from Barry University, Miami, Florida in 1994.
I currently work for IBM as an Availability Manager assigned to the Thomson Multimedia Account. One product of Thomson are RCA products.
I have been held middle to upper management positions in the IT field for over 23 years. I have held the management positions in the Banking, Medical, Service Bureau, Insurance and Manufacturing fields.
I have been very blessed to hold several leadership positions in various volunteer organizations. In these positions I have played some key roles in helping others to increase their perceptions of themselves and improve their lives. These experiences along with those of being a father have given me far more rewarding opportunities than I felt and maybe others who knew me in high school felt I would someday achieve.
With my new assignment by IBM I have relocated to the Midwest and live in the Indianapolis area.

e found this area to be a major improvement in schools for our children and a doubling of sq ftg in the size of our home.
I recently observed on Classmates.com the class of 1967 is going to have a reunion. I some times today joke about having been a member of the classes of 67, 68, and 69. And when I do I think of Coach Bertagnoli who was always telling me 'here's my career junior'...
I hope all members of the Class of 1969 have achieved as much happiness in their lives as I feel I have received.
Workplace
Through some extremely hard work, self-sacrifice as well as recognition by several key past and present Managers I have been able to achieve a significant amount of professional success.
Within the Information Technology and Banking fields I have been responsible for managing as few as 3 direct reports to managing 7 Managers and 145 non-exempt personnel.
In my first four years of employment with IBM I received 13 personal and Team awards, one promotion and one stock option grant for being recognized as an extremely important employee.
