Mike's Story
After graduating from Ramona in 1966,,,went to U of Washington on a NROTC scholarship...graduated with a degree in Oceanography and went to Navy flight School...flew off the USS Intrepid, USS Kennedy and USS Nimitz before resigning in 1980 as LCDR. Went to U of Idaho...graduating in 1983 with MS in forestry. Worked for US Forest Service as aerial surveyor/pilot ...mapping and surveying forests from the air...and as Research Forester at the NE Experiment Station in PA. Flew in Navy R...Expand for more
eserve out of NAS Alameda, CA...retired as CDR in 1993. Retired from FS to work as aerial photographer/surveyor for the state of MN Forestry Program. Retired in June 2013...and now am doing a survey of wilderness areas for a book I hope to complete ...soon!!?? I married in 1971...have 4 children...and 3 grandchildren. Still married to same woman!! Owned several airplanes and built a sailboat...still have boat. Mostly I hike and canoe...easy, cheap, and takes me where I want to go.
