Life
I am an attorney in Homer, Alaska, a place known only for being the home of the singer Jewel, John Hillstrand and the Time Bandit and "leave the light on for ya" Tom Bodett. Like everyone else in the area, I continued to wait for Exxon to finally pay the 2.5+ billion judgment against it for the oil it spilled near here 18 years ago, but all of us got hosed pretty badly by the Supreme Court decision. ily, friends and I also fish commercially for herring roe, halibut and salmon in Prince Wm. Sound where the spill occurred, and live where the oil spill mess reached, so the spill and Exxon's refusal to clean up its mess or care in the slightest about the people who live where the spill polluted was a major event, particularly since the oil is still there in many areas.
