Mike's Story
In August 1963 I joined the Air Force. Worked with communications and radar associated with Titan II missiles. Traveled a lot. Best investment of time and energy ever (at the time). After my hitch went to Berkeley/San Francisco area to see what the hippy thing was all about; really enjoyed that. Learned to sail/crewed on a few different types of craft but had the most fun as half owner of a 32 ft Atkins sloop; saw most of the west coast from Vancouver to Ensenada. Worked as a disk jockey for a few stations, cut and hauled hardwood in Lousiana, worked offshore, cleaned morter off bricks for gas money, made and lost a bundle during the silver rush in the 70's, did pest control, worked downstream products for Exxo...Expand for more
n, ended up working for the state of Texas. I married 4 times to wonderful women, failed 3 times. Martha succeded in motivating me want to be a better man...then she stuck with me until I got some of the basics. I'm still a work in progress. I've always been lucky, but I hit the jackpot with Martha. I have 3 sons, no grandchildren yet but I have become more patient with age. Martha and I are retired, just celebrated our 23rd anniversary. Life is getting good but getting older takes a little getting used to.
Update:
Granddaughter! Beautiful, funny, sweet, smart little bundle of energy. But I wax mushy. Enjoying retirement with Martha, my very best friend and bride of 27 years now. Did I mention my granddaughter?
