After getting drafted and ending up in Viet Nam I returned to KC to get my Ba in Econ at Rockhurst, spent 14 years as a commodities and options trader. Received my MBA in International Relations and Business. Retired in 94, went back to Viet Nam and formed Uplift International bringing meds and equip to hospitals in Ha Noi and Da Nang. Check out our web site, Library Project of Vietnam.org Now we build libraries in Viet Nam (8) and in Laos (3). Our next one goes in Cambodia in 2004.
Most exciting moment, " Introduced 2 famous grandaughters who had never met, Mary Jean Eisenhower and Celia Sandys (Churchill's grandaughter in 2002."
Currently I'm the Administrator of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation. We are supporting the troops in Iraq and their families back home. I leave for Landstuhl Hospital in Germany to meet many of the wounded we support.
I am proud to be a Viet Nam Veteran and will support our military until my last breath.

Military
After getting drafted in the Spring of 69 I applied for West Point and was accepted. Volunteered for Airborne Ranger School, turned down the appointment after being accepted to OCS Ft. Belvoir in DC. Left the program under Nixon's cutback program for officers in Viet Nam.
Volunteered for Viet Nam as a doorgunner crewchief on Huey helicopters. Served in Viet Nam with Washington High Grads, Gary Williams, John Thompson, Bob Mynster, Henry Laurent, Don Billingsly all were in my AO North of Saigon.
Lucked out and made it back home with a new view on life.
I currently work with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force and retired Lt General Jack Singlaub former head of SOG in Viet Nam in charge of Special Forces Command. We work to support our current wounded and their families from OEF and OIF.
The military will always be a part of me.
