Mike's Story
Life
Well, they say life is what happens while you're busy making other plans and that's definitely what happened to me! I started out for school to become a police officer but was offered a job in mortgage banking and have been there ever since. My wife and I moved on from the company in which we were partners in Anaheim and now I have only my sons for partners and my wife owns and operates her own escrow business. We started working with reverse mortgages several years back and saw how much good they could do for senior borrowers and have been specializing in them ever since.
We moved to the state of Florida in 1992 with work and decided it just wasn't for us. So we packed up the family and dog, bought a house in Villa Park and have been back there ever since. Between Denise and I, we have two boys and two girls and two grand-daughters.
Since our kids are older now we have plenty of time to pursue our interests while we're still young enough to enjoy them. Aside from owning our own "Winchester House" (there's always a project going on!), we spend time ha...Expand for more
ving a little fun now and again. Denise loves her garden and her two English Mastiffs. I love to hit the open road on a motorcycle. I've been back and forth to Sturgis a few times and was lucky enough to ride to Harley's 100th anniversary in Milwaukee in 2003. Denise will do the short rides with me including Napa and the Laughlin motorcycle run. But she leaves the long runs to my brother and I. We are both memebers of the IBA - Iron Butt Association - as we made it back from Sturgis in 2005 by putting on almost 1200 documented miles in under 24 hours neither one of us on a bike built for long distance riding. THAT's why my wife won't do the longer rides (smart woman! LOL).
When we are in town and not working on the house, we like to collect wine and champagne (but not as much as drinking it) and our house is always the meeting spot for the family, our friends and all our kids' friends. We seem to be the second parents for everyone else's kids in addition to our own. There's always a crowd and something going on in the Branson household and we love it that way.
